This is a song that defines Frank Zappa and his music: quite raw and full of surprises, as one can see by the guitar solo of Zappa. Nothing prepares you to this shock when you first listen to it, as there is no melody, no story in the solo, only a bunch of notes being thrown for your amusement. Plastic people used to more standard procedures may not approve any of it, but that is the point Zappa is making. The song, included in the Mystery Disc album (1998), is a version of the famous song Louie Louie and was recorded live at the Fillmore Auditorium, San Francisco, on 24-25 June 1966, as we are told in the Zappa Wiki Jawaka site. Another theme similar to this one can be heard in the song Po-Jama People included in the One Size Fits All album (1975). With Zappa, the listener is confronted with a music that demands to be listened to in a different way, with different norms. Not an easy task for some people, but quite fun.
Plastic
people
You gotta go
You gotta go
Plastic
people
You gotta go
Three nights and days
I walk the streets
This town is full
Of plastic creeps
Their shoes are brown
To match their suits
They got no balls
They got no roots
Because theyʼre plastic people
You gotta go (Sure gonna miss ya)
You gotta go
Three nights and days
I walk the streets
This town is full
Of plastic creeps
Their shoes are brown
To match their suits
They got no balls
They got no roots
Because theyʼre plastic people
You gotta go (Sure gonna miss ya)
Plastic
people
You gotta go
You gotta go
