ANAGRAM CXX.

Heidegger tries to know what Being is, what
It means to exist, and as “matter” is impossible
To know, his whole investigation ends in the
Same question: We have to think about Being.
5                    Santayana knows that “matter” is impossible to
Know, because to name “matter” one has to use
An essence (“matter”) which is what “matter” is
Not. So Santayana uses metaphors like flux, or
Whirlpool, but knowing that those essences are
10                  Only approaches to what “matter” is. He uses
Also the essence “substance” to point to what is
Matter-Form, the basis of all life from which we
Spring. The mystery of “matter” cannot be solved,
And Santayana goes to investigate how can we be
15                  Spiritual and find happiness in life being material
Beings. Heidegger does not care for perception, but
For Being. His whole philosophy is talking about a
Mystery which cannot be solved. I think Santayana,
As a naturalist, makes more sense philosophically
20                 Than the existentialist. The point of life is to have fun
And enjoy while one is alive. The ontology of Santayana
Talks of spirit being fed by “matter” giving voice to
Essences, the one by Heidegger of the mystery of Being.
Santayana was a naturalist who was satisfied with
25                  Saying that “matter” was the basis of life; Heidegger
Was an existentialist who was never satisfied with the
Mystery of Being, and ended being a mystic.
